Foobar2000

Software vendor: Peter Pawłowski

Description:

Foobar2000 (commonly abbreviated to FB2k) is a freeware, highly customizable, modular media player for Windows. It's known for its substantial UI configuration and boasts many features out of the box, such as; a converter for popular file formats, extensive metadata and file sorting options, and complete keyboard shortcut configuration. Additionally, plugins for Foobar2000 are regularly developed and updated, insuring a host of other features that don't come with the base player. Everything from playlist organization tools, to visual skins, to many more less common file formats, and everything in between. Though Foobar has versions for iOS, Android and MacOS, the Android version is not accessible, and the other versions haven't been tested. Though Foobar's core player and features are accessible, specific abilities (such as thorough visual customization) require dragging and dropping, or use of mice and trackpads. While this is possible with a screen reader, it requires patience and you'll likely have to attempt multiple times to get the desired result. Core functionality has also been tested to work under Wine on Linux, although the program's crash reporter will detect Wine and direct the user to the Wine Bugzilla. Credits: Daniel Johnson
